Release Notes
---------------

3.1 is a major release that focuses on compatibility with Windows 10 environments. 
It's designed to run with either elevated or restricted Windows User permissions.
It generally runs smoother than 3.03 on modern Windows environments, including standard-user accounts.
It's pre-release Alpha software, so there is always a chance you may find a bug.
Sometime bugs can be severe, like crashing while the taskbar is hidden:

  You can use Task Manager to kill sentry3.exe and explorer.exe , and use Windows Key + R to re-run explorer.exe and show your taskbar.
  You can use Ctrl-Alt-S to restart Sentry, or restore it if the layout didn't fully draw.

Security is turned off by default, so the program can be terminated with Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) if instability or a crash occurs. 
Other windows will be able to progmatically pop-up over Sentry, unless you run it in secure mode.

Secure mode can be enabled by running with the "-secure" command line parameter.
Additionally, the hotkey F1 + ALT will perform an emergency-exit.

Some elements are being moved to the Application Data folder:
 \layouts
 \userlist.dat
 
Debug information is turned on and optimization is not, so program performance is not as fast as possible.

This license is good for all upgrades in the 3.x series.

Target release date for Sentry 3.1 release is April, 2017. Check freshsoftware.com for new beta versions, and/or set update preferences to the beta channel.



Known Issues:
----------------------------------------
  A program crash/exception in Secure mode will leave mouse unable to do drag-n-drop operations in Explorer.exe until restart
  
  Network deployment has not been tested
  Run-before Explorer on Vista, Win7, Win8 (needs Admin mode and disabling of UAC)
  Sentry Manager "Users" section is incomplete
  Update.bat COPY command may not copy subfolders (check source for your configuration)
  Notes can not be emailed to users
